Jerald D. “Jerry” Harrell, 90, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Rock Creek of Ottawa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 13, 2022, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Interment Evergreen Mound Cemetery, northwest of Ottawa. Jerry was born October 24, 1931, in Ottawa, the son of Theron and Freada (Turner) Harrell. He was a lifelong Ottawa resident, graduating from Princeton High School with the class of 1950. Jerry served in the United States Army in the early 1950’s with the 82nd Airborne. Jerry was united in marriage to Eleanor L. Evans on July 13, 1957, in Ottawa. They shared 62 years of marriage and made countless happy memories. For 23 years, Jerry was employed at Ottawa Truck as a cost accountant from the late 50’s to late 70’s. He worked for the City of Ottawa, Water, Utilities and Distribution in the 80’s and 90’s. He was a member of the North Baptist Church. Jerry was a pilot and loved to fly small planes, fishing, and loved to mow. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and brothers, Dean Harrell and Squirt Harrell and great grandson, Mak Harrell. Survivors include two sons, Tim Harrell and wife Kathy and Brett Harrell and wife Jodi all of Ottawa; eight grandchildren, Darren Corcoran of Ottawa, Aaron Harrell and wife Brittney of Baldwin City, Trenton Corcoran of Denver, Colorado, and Mallory Harrell of Ottawa, Kameron Harrell of Omaha, Nebraska, Kelvin Harrell, Kirklan Harrell, and Kianna Harrell all of Ottawa; and three great grandchildren, Ellie Hamilton, Nolan Harrell and Nora Harrell. The family suggests memorial contributions to Hope House c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
