Jennie Lorene Williams, 76, of Pomona, Kansas, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021, at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. The family will meet with friends from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M., Friday, January 7, 2022, at the mortuary. Interment Evergreen Mound Cemetery, Ottawa. Jennie was born October 19, 1945, at Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of John Levi and Gertrude (Bowker) Catt. She was the youngest of five children. She was united in marriage to Vernon E. Williams June 26, 1985, in Lawrence, Kansas. He survives of the home. She was a lifelong homemaker and farm wife living in the Franklin County area since 1985, moving here from Tonganoxie where she lived for 1 year and Emporia where she lived for many years. Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, son, Devin Williams, brothers, Clarence Marion Catt, Alfred Donald Catt and Will Alton Catt, and sister, Rose Zella Margaret Freisner. Survivors include her husband, three children, Frankie Carr (Ted) of Allen, Kansas, Carol Allender of Pomona, and Kevin Williams (Wendy) of Gladstone, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and son-in-law, David L. Schumann. Jennie was a former member of the Centropolis Baptist Church and attended Calvary Baptist Church. She liked gardening, canning and collecting elephants. Jennie especially loved family gatherings and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed her dogs and cats, raising peacocks and chickens. Jennie had a love for the outdoors.
