Jeanette Dilks

Helen Jeanette Dilks, 76, of Paola, Kansas passed away October 31, 2012 at Olathe Medical Center. Jeanette was born August 5, 1936, in Tyler, Texas to Robert Reginald and Eunice Inez Bufkin. Jeanette grew up in Mansfield, Louisiana and was a member of the First Baptist Church there. Jeanette and her first husband John Britt had two sons, John Reginald and Timothy Mark Britt. Jeanette married Roland Elmer Dilks of Urich, Missouri on February 10, 1978 and Roland"s three children Rick, David, and Janice became her own. Jeanette and Roland moved to rural Paola in 1980 to enjoy life in the country. Jeanette worked as an administrative professional for most of her life, serving as the office manager for several nursing homes in the area. Jeanette was full of life until the very end. She was most happy in the presence of her family and friends. Jeanette always had a reason to celebrate, no matter what the occasion. She was always on the go. Jeanette enjoyed gardening, playing golf, and spending time with her two beloved dachshunds. But most of all, Jeanette enjoyed doing things for others. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister Patricia Ann Strong. She is survived by sister Regina and husband James Lynch of Shreveport, LA; sons Reggie Britt of Atlanta, GA, Tim and wife Danielle Britt of Nashville, TN, Rick Dilks of Paola, KS, David and wife Youngbok Dilks of Ashburn, VA; daughter Janice and husband Michael Monley of Overland Park, KS; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
