Jean Virginia McCloud, 88, of Corpus Christi, Texas, peacefully went home to Jesus on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Corpus Christi Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 12, 2017, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas. The family would like to invite friends for a dinner immediately following the service at the VFW Post 5901, Ottawa, Kansas. A celebration of life service will also be held at Corpus Christi Cowboy Church, Corpus Christi, Texas, on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. She was born June 13, 1928, to Jess & Lucy (Gray) Hoskinson in Liberal, Kansas. She moved to Ottawa, Kansas in 1942 where she attended Ottawa High School and earned her GED. She worked as a Machine Operator at Mode O'Day for 35 years, and retired in 1981. She married Paul Foster in 1957. He preceded her in death in 1965. She met and married Jess McCloud in 1967. He also preceded her in death in 1991. Jean moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, in September 2014 and was a member of Corpus Christi Cowboy Church. She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 5901 and served in many offices including Ladies Auxiliary President 1984-85 and 1991-96, 2nd District President 1989-90, Chaplain 1981-83 and Trustee 1980-81. Jean was also a member of the Aerie Lodge 2700, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles' Ladies Auxiliary. Jean enjoyed playing bingo and solitaire, dancing, bowling, fishing with Jess, collecting angels and spending time with her family. She was always ready for fun with family and friends. She loved life and enjoyed all the adventures of that life and gave her family tons of memories to treasure until they see her again. Jean is survived by a large and loving family including daughter Beverley & husband Wayne Dresker of Spokane, WA. – Grandchildren Robin & Carolyn Dresker, Kevin & Sheila Dresker, Lisa & Randall Zielinski all of WA. Great Grandchildren Robert, Michele, Jason, Kirsten, Timothy & Christopher. Daughter Karen McCloud of Oakland, CA. -- Grandchildren Pandora Redd & Chris of Pittsburg KS., Jessie & Melissa Flores of Oakland, CA. -- Great Grandchildren Ron, Josh, JJ & Sophia -- Great Great Grandchildren Zoey, Landon, Isace, Aaron, Cooper, Isabella & Bo. Daughter Jerri & husband David Bohinc of Corpus Christi, TX -- Grandchildren Kim & Lance Burroughs of Corpus Christi, TX., Russ & Tori Wilson of Ottawa, KS -- Great Grandchildren: Julia, Melissa, Lance Jr and wife Nicole, Kelsi & David. Daughter Debbie McCloud, who preceded her in death-- Grandchildren Scott & Tina Stewart of Winfield, KS., Alesha & Larry Norris of Pittsburg, KS; Great grandchildren Mercedes & husband Alvaro, Dakotah, Hunter, Megan & fiance` Preston, Emily & husband Mark & Kristen -- Great Great Grandchildren Krissa, Khrystian & Brayden. Other survivors include nephew Gary Nicholson and wife Margaret of Ottawa; niece, Lanora Newell of Ozawkie; nephews, Squire Foster and wife Doris of Newton, James Foster of Ottawa; niece Karen Childers of Bandon, Oregon; and numerous great & great great nieces & nephews on both Nicholson & Foster sides. Jean was also preceded in death by her parents Lucy & Jess Hoskinson; sisters Juanita Adair & Thelma Nicholson-Foster; two brothers James Hoskinson & Mark Hoskinson, nephews Harvey D. Nicholson & Dallas Nicholson, niece Eletheir Presnal & her husband Albert Presnal.
