Jean Marie Bessenbacher

Jean Marie Spiegelhalter Bessenbacher, 82 of Cleveland, MO passed away July 3, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM followed by Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church 22779 Metcalf, Bucyrus, Kansas. Jean was born January 30, 1935 the daughter of Stephen and Marie Spiegelhalter. She married James E. Bessenbacher on June 2, 1956. Jean and Jim raised six children at St. Francis Xavier parish. Jean attended St. Peter's grade school and Hogan High School. It was in high school that the bridge club was formed and continues the 4th Tuesday of every month. This close-knit group of women brought Jean many fun times and laughs throughout their more than 60 years. Jean was devoted to her loving husband of 58 years, her Catholic faith and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jean always made her family members feel special, even to her last breath and hug. Always fun loving, a passionate mother and nana. Jean lived a great life, God was good to her. She will be greatly missed. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Jim, and her sister Rosemary Nordby. Survivors include Jean’s children; Jimmy (Mary); Maggie Bessenbacher; Nellie Long (Mike); Cathy Olberding (Bruce); Steve (Andra) and Jeannie Sopyla (Steve); fourteen grandchildren, Eddie (Katie), Hannah Waters (Andrew), David, Leah Creswell (AJ), Abigail Youmans (Paul), Claire Diddle (Matt), Paul Bessenbacher; Ryan Perkins (Jamie), Luke Perkins (Jessica); Alison Lagerstrom (Andrew); Erin Mahaffey (BJ); Laci Olberding; Patrick, Michael & Brian Bessenbacher; Natalie, Paige & Olivia Sopyla; and fourteen great grand-children.
