Jason M. Wight, 46, of Quenemo, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018. Cremation is planned. Family will meet with friends from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Jason was born February 21, 1972, at Garnett, Kansas, the son of Joel Wight and Mary Ann (Lutz) Platt. He grew up and attended school in Garnett, moving in 2013 to Quenemo. Jason was united in marriage to Nicole Thompson September 9, 1998, at Ottawa. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his father, Joel Wight of Richmond; mother, Mary Ann Platt of Richmond; grandmother, Vergie Wight of Garnett; four siblings, Stephanie Wight of Richmond, Josh Wight and wife Nicole of Richmond, Jill Hermreck and husband Chris of Garnett, and Grace Wight and boyfriend Will Davis of Garnett; step-brothers, Danny Platt, Glen Platt, Ron Platt, and Ray Platt; step-sisters, Debbie Platt, Michelle Hermreck, and Carol Prothe; and ten nieces and nephews. Jason was employed as a tree trimmer with Asplundh Tree Service for 8 years. He loved spending time with his family and good friends, playing music, being outdoors with friends, dogs and animals.
