Janet Mcdowell-Conrad

Janet Louise McDowell-Conrad, 87, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Morningside Place in Overland Park.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the Paola Chapel, 305 N Pearl St. Paola, KS 66071. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, at the Living Proof Church, 32401 Harmony Rd, Paola, KS 66071. Burial is at Osawatomie Cemetery. Memorials are to Living Proof Church.

Janet was born February 1, 1935, in Paola, Kansas, the daughter of Mark and Jeanette (Downs) Lloyd.

She was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” F. McDowell on March 18, 1955 at the Osawatomie Methodist Church. They made their home in Osawatomie and became the parents of five children. They moved to a farm south of Osawatomie in 1963. Jerry preceded her in death on July 2, 1976.

Janet was married to Clayton "Sam" Conrad on December 31, 1981 at the Paola Assembly of God Church. They made their home on the farm south of Osawatomie. Sam preceded her in death on July 23, 2013.

She worked at First National Bank in Osawatomie as a teller for many years.

Janet was very active in the Paola Assembly of God Church and the Harvesters. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry McDowell, her husband Sam Conrad, son Kevin McDowell, son-in-law Kevin Dial, step-son Rusty Conrad, brothers George, Mark Jr., Glen, and Keith Lloyd, sisters Gladys Artzberger, June Cook and Esther Weide.

Survivors include four daughters Kristie (Jerry) Sams of Cleveland, MO, Kimberly Dial of Gardner, Kerry (Fred) Ford of Kansas City, MO, and Karla (Ken) Debrick of Paola; step-children Regina Gross, Renee Ross, and Randy Conrad; many grandchildren; many great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

The family invites you to wear purple, in honor of Janet’s favorite color, to both the visitation and service.
