Janet G. Keaton, 77, of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020, in Arizona. Private family services will be held later. Inurnment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. Janet was born May 30, 1942 at Ottawa, the daughter of Floyd and Letha (Long) Richardson. She was born and raised in Ottawa; lived in Overland Park from 1962 until 1975, returning to Ottawa at that time. She and George moved to Gardner, Kansas in 2016. Janet graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1960 and attended Johnson County Community College. On October 22, 1961 Janet was united in marriage to George I. Keaton at Ottawa, Kansas. They shared 58 years of marriage and had two sons, Brad and Brian. Janet was a devoted homemaker and loved playing golf and crafting. She was a member of North Baptist Church in Ottawa, Ottawa Country Club Board, Ottawa Promenaders, the Ransom Memorial Auxiliary and was a Shawnee Mission P.T.A. board member. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Letha Richardson. Survivors include her husband George of Gardner, Kansas; sons, Brad Keaton and good friend Diana of Gardner and Brian Keaton also of Gardner; brother, Jimmie Richardson and wife Connie of Topeka, Kansas; sister, Patsy Crockett and husband Hank also of Topeka; grandchildren, Alyssa, Megan, Lynsie and Kelci; and eight great grandchildren. The family suggests memorial contributions to Franklin County Cancer Foundation c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory. Ottawa. Kansas 66067.
