Jane Paulette Garcia was born on Wednesday, October 10, 1945, in Long Lane, Missouri. She was the daughter of Joseph E. and Mary C. (Dalton) Graves. She lived in Paola, Kansas, moving to Ottawa, in Franklin County, Kansas, in 1964, where she made her home until her death Friday, April 21, 2006, at the age of sixty years. She graduated from Paola High School with the class of 1963 and attended Johnson County Community College. Jane was a homemaker and worked for H.D. Lee in Ottawa as a seamstress. She also worked for Hercules Powder Plant in DeSoto, Kansas, as a line worker, and Activity Director for Crestview Nursing Home in Ottawa and Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Center in Gardner, Kansas. Jane attended Faith Bible Church in Ottawa and, later, Ottawa Bible Church. Jane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved their family gatherings and immensely enjoyed her grandchildren. She liked to play cards with her friends, read, and work in her garden. She also enjoyed watching T.V., especially, Golden Girls, QVC, Food Network, Law & Order, and Jeopardy. On January 4, 1964, Jane was united in marriage with Merejildo
