Jamie G. Marshall, Sr.

Jamie G. Marshall, Sr., age 43, of Olathe, Kansas, formerly of Paola, passed away July 11, 2022. Jamie was born at Paola, Kansas on June 12, 1979, the son of Steven Anthony, Sr. and Betty (VanTrece) Marshall. His father died in an automobile accident at the young age of 28 in 1981 before Jamie was 2 years old. Jamie earned his G.E.D. through Labette Community College and had also taken some college classes. He had worked as a cook, a mechanic, and a sales clerk. Jamie loved playing basketball, poker, and video games. He enjoyed being around his family and barbequeing. He also loved to cook. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother Eric Henry, and his grandparents Mary VanTrece, Harry VanTrece, and Helen VanTrece. He is survived by his mother Betty Swift of Olathe; his children Jamie Marshall, Jr. and Ciara Marshall; his siblings Latonia (Marshall) Brown (Robert), Steven Marshall, Jr. (Amy), and Richard Swift, Jr. (Sheila); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by funeral services at 1 p.m., Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Dengel and Son Mortuary, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS, 66071. A private burial will take place at a later date. Family and friends are encouraged to post their memories and condolences on Jamie's tribute wall.
