James 'Phil' Williams, 73, Alamogordo, New Mexico (formerly of Louisburg, Kansas) passed away, Friday April 25, 2008 in Las Cruzes, New Mexico. Funeral services will be held at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Louisburg Chapel at 11am on Thursday, May 1, 2008, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Louisburg Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society and/or Veterans Administration. Phil was born March 19, 1935 in Louisburg, Kansas to Raymond & Thelma Williams. He was a 1953 graduate of Louisburg High School. He was an Army Veteran. He was a mechanic for the Ford Motor Company for 30 years. He then went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad and then on to work as a mechanic on his own. Phil was a life member of the American Legion in Louisburg and was a 47 year member of the Louisburg Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; Raymond & Thelma, son; Robert Lee Williams, and brother; Ray Williams. Phil leaves his wife of 49 years; Carol, children; Terri Lynn (Dan) Thies, Donald (Kim) Williams, Lisa (Dave) Martin, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.
