James E. Wheeler, 85, Bucyrus, KS, passed away February 11, 2009 at his home. Jim Wheeler was born to Chester and Carman Filer Wheeler on April 1, 1923 in Homestead, OK. Jim Served as a Corporal during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946 with a World War II Victory Ribbon and Three Bronze Service Stars. Jim Married Mary Knecht Vohs on December 23, 1965 in Wichita KS. In 1970 the family moved to Paola, KS where he and his wife owned and operated Mary"s Ceramics. In 1988 the family moved to Bucyrus, KS. He was a member of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He loved his family and enjoyed gardening and yard work. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, and step son Leon Vohs. He is survived by his wife, Mary and 3 daughters Carol, Gail, and Laurel, brother Thomas and sister Matti. step-daughters Kay Henry and Ranay Brady and step-sons Donnie, Ronnie, Steve, and Gary Vohs. He was dearly loved by his 32 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. The Visitation will be on Saturday, February 14, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated after the visitation at 11:00 a.m. at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church Bucyrus, KS. Burial will be in the Queen of the Holy Rosary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given as a memorial to Queen of the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
