James Slyter

James Douglas Slyter, 54, of Paola, Kansas passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 at his residence. He was born June 17, 1961 the third of four sons to Curtis and Maryann Slyter at Paola, Kansas. James is survived by his father and mother, Curtis and Maryann Slyter; his wife Marsha Slyter; three step children, Jeremey Davis, Krista Hoss, and Bill Davis; many step grandchildren; brothers Greg and Diane Slyter, Jerry and Loretta Slyter, and Marvin and Jamie Slyter; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. James and Marsha were married October 25, 2011 at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. James was a member of Pearl Street Baptist Church. He was in the cattle business with his father and brothers. He had a passion for collecting guns, marksmanship, history, and Gunsmoke. James was a loving son, husband, step dad, brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed by all.
