James Robert “Jim Bob” Johnson, 34, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, at AdventHealth, Ottawa, Kansas.

Jim Bob was born Monday, May 29, 1989, in Ottawa, Kansas. He was the son of the late James Leroy “Jim” and Carol Johnson. He grew up in Williamsburg, Kansas, before moving to Garnett, Kansas, where he made his home for the past 14 years. He graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 2007.

He was united in marriage to Samantha Bollin on September 4, 2010. He is survived by Samantha.

Jim Bob was employed with Republic Services in Kansas City, Kansas, as a welder for the past nine years. He was good at his work and was valued by those he worked with for his humor and willingness to help others.

He loved working with his “Popo”, Roy Johnson, and his Uncle John Johnson on the farm. He loved the farm life. Jim Bob enjoyed being around his family and friends and was willing to help out whenever needed. He and his Grandpa and Grandma Johnson were inseparable until the time of their deaths. Besides family, he thoroughly enjoyed “hanging” with his buddies.

Jim Bob dearly loved his family and many friends. Josh Johnson, his younger brother, and him made quite a pair. Jim Bob loved his nieces and nephews, and enjoyed every opportunity he had to be with them.

Jim Bob was preceded in death by his father, Jim.

Survivors include his wife, Samantha, mother, Carol Jones of Williamsburg, a beloved Aunt Deb of Williamsburg, brothers, Josh (Caitlin) Johnson, of Williamsburg, and Ryan Johnson, of Gardner, Kansas, and a sister, Brandy Dodd.
