James Rhoades

James Earl Rhoades age 64 of Greeley Kansas passed away unexpectedly at his home Sunday Feb. 28th . Memorials to the James Rhoades Memorial Fund. To leave condolences go to www.penwellgabelpaola.com. James was born March 13, 1945 in Paola Kansas to Robert and Ethel Rhoades England. He attended high school in Wichita and in 1962 inlisted in the Airforce and served until being honorably discharged in 1966. On Nov. 15, 2003 he was united in marriage to Sue Foster in Ottawa, Kansas, they made their home in Greeley. James worked for the National Envelope Company out of Lenexa for many years and later worked as a registered nurse at the Osawatomie Hospital retiring in 2009. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, gardening, animal"s ,cattle, and his cats. Jim was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors are his wife Sue and son Casey Rhoades of the home, son James E. Rhoades Jr. of York PA., son Robert K, Rhoades of Gadsden Al, dau., Lisa Bilbo of Mountain Boro Al., dau., Carrie Abbott of Boaz Al., and 8 grandchildren, he will be greatly missed by family and friends.
