James Larry Wynn was born Saturday, February 20, 1954, in Iola, Kansas. He was the son of Jim and Geraldine (Rowden) Wynn. James lived in Iola until 1968, moving to Lawrence and to Ottawa in 1988, where he made his home until his death on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the age of sixty years. James graduated from Lawrence High School with the class of 1973. He worked nineteen years as a custodian for Kansas University, retiring in 1993. On November 1, 1988, James was united in marriage with Ella Mae Mason-Conrad in Lawrence. She survives of the home after twenty-five years. Survivors also include his son, Leonard Conrad and wife Janice, and daughter Kelly Jo Wadewitz and husband Tracy Dickey all of Ottawa; five grandchildren, Adam and Dylan Conrad, Joshua, Brandon and Noah Wadewitz; brother, Jerry Elleton; and sister, Lois Ann Murray. He was preceded in death by his parents. James liked to go on walks, play cards and Bingo. He also enjoyed word search books and watching TV. His favorite shows were the “Bold and the Beautiful”, “Family Feud”, “Maury Povich Show” and the “Jerry Springer Show”. Above all was his love for his family, children and grandchildren. James’ loss is felt by all who knew and loved him. He will be missed and fondly remembered.
