James "Jim" Stottlemire

James M. Jim Stottlemire, age 65, of Rantoul, Kansas, died Sunday, January 17, 2010. He was born on Monday, March 20, 1944, in Rantoul, Kansas. He was the son of Glenn M. and Eva M. (Welton) Stottlemire. He was a lifelong resident of Rantoul. James graduated from Olathe High School with the class of 1963. From 1970 to 1976, Jim worked in production at Bendix Homes of Ottawa. From 1977 to 1981, he was a surveyor with Daniel International Company working at Wolfe Creek Power Plant in Burlington. From 1981 to 1984, he was a surveyor with Larkin Associates of Kansas City, Missouri, and from 1995 to present, he was instrument crew chief and surveyor with Ponzer-Youngquist, P.A. of Olathe, Kansas. Jim served in the United States Army from April of 1966 to January of 1969, attaining the rank of SP5 (T), serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5901 of Ottawa and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 912 of Ottawa. He is survived by his: Father-Glenn Stottlemire of Rantoul, Kansas Brother-John L. Stottlemire and his wife, Carrie, of Highland Maryland Several cousins, nieces and nephews He was preceded in deathby his: Mother-Eva M. (Welton) Stottlemire Sister-Ruth Adele Stottlemire SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010. IN STATE: Mr. Stottlemire will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 1:00 p.m. Thursday to service hour, where the family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 Thursday evening. CEMETERY: Ruhamah Cemetery in Rantoul, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions to Mid-America Nutrition Program, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
