James "Jim" Henry Reno

James (Jim) Henry Reno, 85, of Stilwell, Kansas, passed away on December 7, 2022.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 22779 Metcalf Rd Bucyrus, KS 66013. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow the service at the Holy Rosary Cemetery.

James was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Velma and Henry Reno on September 3, 1937. As a young child, Jim and his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he grew up.

During his college years studying engineering at Christian Brothers College in Memphis, Jim would stay with his Uncle Maurice Reno in Kansas to work a summer job at Reno Construction. He married Lillian Rosalia Schingle on July 2, 1960, in Memphis. Soon after, they moved to Kansas to pursue his 40-year career with Reno Construction Company where he ended his career as President of the company.

Jim is preceded in death by his eldest son, Ronald Joseph Reno and his parents Henry Joseph and Velma Juanita Reno.

Jim is survived by his wife, Lillian, his children, Tim (Patti) Reno of Overland Park, Elizabeth (Joseph) Peuser of Stilwell, daughter-in-law, Nancy Reno of Stilwell, and his brother, Joe (Anne) Reno of Memphis, TN. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nicole (Ben) Dykman of Overland Park, Kate (Andy) Bacon of Stilwell, Andrew Reno of Overland Park, Steve (Abbey) Reno of Mission, Mandy Reno of Stilwell, Alex Peuser of Chicago, IL, Emily Peuser of Houston, TX and four great-grandchildren Logan Bacon, Jace Bacon, Thomas Dykman and Parker Dykman.
