James "Jim" Cook Weidner

James C. Jim Weidner, age 79, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Thursday, November 26, 2009, at Royal Terrace Nursing Home in Olathe, Kansas. He was born on Saturday, April 19, 1930, in Ottawa. Jim was the son of Samuel Bearsley Weidner, Sr. and Sarah Ann (Cook) Weidner. Jim was a lifelong Ottawa resident. He attended Ottawa schools. He was a lifelong auto mechanic. He worked for Royer Automotive, Crites Automotive and Robertson’s Ford, all of Ottawa. From 1962 to retirement in 1992, he owned and operated J & W Garage located at 1515 S. Main in Ottawa. In the early 1950’s, Jim served in the National Guard. On April 26, 1959, Jim was united in marriage with Joyce Ackerman in Ottawa. They celebrated fifty years of marriage. She survives of their home. Survivors include his: Wife-Joyce Weidner of the home Son-Theren Weidner of Ottawa, Kansas Daughter-Ronda McCord and her husband, Richard, of Ottawa, Kansas Son-Scott Weidner and his wife, Billie Jo, of Ottawa, Kansas Son-Keith Weidner of Ottawa, Kansas Grandchildren-Eight Gt.Grandchildren-One Jim is preceded in death by his: Father-Samuel Bearsley Weidner, Sr. Mother-Sarah Ann Weidner Brother-John “Fritz” Weidner Brother-Samuel Weidner, Jr. Brother-Bill Weidner Sister-Jack Beach Sister-Helen Smith SERVICES: Graveside services will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Williamsburg, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009. IN STATE: Cremation is planned. CEMETERY: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg, Kansas.
