James J. Wills, 91, passed away February 5, 2013 at Vintage Park, Paola, Kansas. James was born on August 16, 1921 to James and Chelsea (Miller) Wills. He graduated from Paola High School in 1940 and joined the U.S. Army after high school. He was on active duty in 1941 and served in the Battle of the Bulge. James married Erma L. Quincy on February 8, 1947. They had two boys Rick and Gary. As he traveled through life, he remained in the Army National Guard until November 1966 and retired as Master Sergeant and Chief of Firing Battery. He was also a member of the Elks BPOE 921 and moved through the offices and became Exalter Ruler from 1973 " 1974. James was a lifetime member of Pipefitters L.U. 533. He loved all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He and Erma both enjoyed playing golf, going to Texas for the winter and for the last years they really enjoyed going to casinos. They never won big nor lost big, but had lots of fun. He will be remembered by his family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to Paola Senior Center.
