James H. Snider, 74, of Cleveland, MO, passed away April 28, 2010. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 1, at 11:00 a.m., at Louisburg Baptist Temple, Louisburg, KS. Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, May 1, at the church. Jim was born November 3, 1935, in Muldrow, OK, the son of Pink James & Daisy Gladys (Price) Snider. On April 14, 1962, he was united in marriage to Linda Louise Pike in Kansas City, KS. Jim was an operating engineer and later promoted to building superintendent at the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. He was a 1953 graduate of Roland Public Schools, Roland, OK. He lived in the Cass County, MO area for 35 years and filmed the varsity football games for Cass Midway High School for over 20 years. He was a member of the Louisburg Baptist Temple. Jim"s family ran a dairy farm when he was growing up and he continued the love of cattle and horses throughout his life and raised and ran livestock for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Dylan James Snider; brother, Dale Snider; and one sister, Kathryn Deese. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Linda, of the home; two sons, James Earl Snider and Mark Harold Snider and wife Dawn Michelle, both of Cleveland, MO; grandson, Mark James Snider; two granddaughters, Jessica Danielle and Kylie Michaelle Snider; 4 sisters, Patty Lee Speir, Bobbie Stout and Francis Rothschiller, all of Roland, OK, and Sammie Sue Knighton, Myrtle MS. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimers Association.
