James Eldon Wise lifelong resident of Louisburg, Kansas passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at the age of 72. "Jim" was born June 27, 1944 in Paola, Kansas. He graduated from Louisburg High School with the class of 1962. He was a huge Wildcat sports fan both at Louisburg and Kansas State University attending many games to cheer on the athletes. He was married to Sharon Rosner on November 13, 1965. To this union three daughters were born, they were a very important part of his life, bringing him much joy and an occasional challenge. Jim was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed helping each of his girls with their 4-H and FFA projects, and especially loved raising livestock and sharing that experience with them. He was a very outgoing individual who loved visiting with others and liked being involved in his community, county and state programs and organizations. He served as a Little League football coach, on the Miami County Fair Board, Miami County Extension Council, Miami County Angus Association, Miami County Herd Improvement Association, K-WORC"S State Board, Louisburg FFA Advisory board, Knights of Columbus and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was honored to be able to serve in the National Guard and joined November 13, 1964. He enjoyed many types of work including Louisburg Grain, Chemagro, Purina Salesman, Miami County Feed and Seed, and as Miami County Commissioner for 12 years retiring in 2015. He particularly loved raising Purebred Black Angus cattle on their farm for many years west of Louisburg. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Opal Wise; and a brother, Robert. He is survived by his loving wife of the home, Sharon; three daughters, Michelle (Max) Menefee of Paola; Melissa (David) Dubowsky of Kearney, Nebraska; Stephanie (Shannon) Unrein of Amsterdam, New York; six grandchildren, Morgan Menefee, John (Emily) Menefee, Megan Dubowsky, Andrew Dubowsky, Troy (Makayla) Unrein and Denis Unrein; two great grandchildren, Jacoby and Tyler Unrein; one sister, Vickie Alderson, Ottawa, Kansas; step mother, Hazel Wise, Louisburg, Kansas and his beloved dog Dixie.
