Jake Ross

Jake Ross, age 83, of Louisburg, KS passed away at his home on February 17, 2019. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2019 with the funeral service following at 11:30 a.m. all at the First Baptist Church 406 S. Vine, Louisburg, KS. Burial will be in the Louisburg Cemetery. Jake was born May 14, 1935 in Humboldt, KS to his parents Charles Ross and Anna Whited Ross. Prior to meeting Oletta Crotts in Kansas City, MO on September 10, 1956, he served in the Army from 1953-56. They were introduced by Oletta’s co-worker and were married 19 days later and had a very blessed marriage of 62 years. Jake enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything. They lived in Bakersfield, CA for 9 years prior to moving to Louisburg, KS. He worked with his brother, Edward Ross of Ross Turf Farms from 1974 until he retired in 2001. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Anna Ross, his son Timmy Ross, brother Jacky Ross and Sister Lottie Semler. Survivors include his wife, Oletta Ross and three children, Travis & Sharon Ross, Teresa & Jene Vickrey and Ben & Rhonda Ross all of Louisburg, KS. His eight grandchildren, Travis Ross, Jr., Jimmy Ross, Jacob Vickrey, Heather Pate, Bryan Ross, Jasmine Lane, Johanna Vickrey & Joshua Vickrey; and eleven great grandchildren, Travis Ross III, William Ross, Katie Pate, Emma Vickrey, Cori Graham, Olivia Vickrey, Analeigh Lane, Anika Vickrey, Avery Lane, Skylar Ross and Bodhi Ross. His siblings Edward Ross, Charles Ross, Clyde Ross and Betsy Irwin. The family asks in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Olathe Hospice Care in Olathe, KS.
