Ardy J 'Jack' Phillips age 86 of Paola passed away at his home Thursday Sept 18th 2008. Funeral Service is Saturday Sept. 20th at 1:30PM Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel, 305 N. Jack was born March 18, 1922 in Fontana, Kansas to Ardy R and Alice Lela Folks Phillips. He grew up in the Miami County area. On April 24, 1943 he was united in marriage to Frances Jane Wiseman in Gardner, Kansas. Jack farmed and was a carpenter in the Miami and Franklin County area for many years retiring in 1985. Jack and Frances enjoyed traveling to Minnesota and Colorado where he enjoyed sightseeing and fishing. His hobbies were working with his hands, on the farm, woodworking, crafts, squirrel hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant daughter Charlotte Loree. Survivors are his wife Frances of the home, son John and wife Eulene Milton Phillips of Spring Hill, son Paul and wife Shelia Stovall Phillips of Minden, Louisiana, 4 grandchildren, Darcie Phillips, Corey Phillips and fianc"e Jessie Thompson, Jack Ryan Phillips, and Janelle Phillips and fianc'e Clay Mooris, 2 great grandchildren Cadence Wooge, and Katie Phillips. Jack will be greatly missed by family and friends.
