Jack Lee Rictor, 85, of Pomona, Kansas, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021, at Brookside Retirement Community. Family will meet with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, August 6, 2021, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. A private family inurnment will be held later at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas. Jack was born May 3, 1936, in Scott City, Kansas. He was raised by his dad, Harold Avery Rictor, Sr. and mother, Betty J. (Burres) Rictor on a small farm in Irish Bend near Monroe, Oregon. He went to school at Central Grade School in Monroe, Oregon. Jack served in the United States Navy from January 1954 to May 1957. He lived in Colleyville, Texas, moving in the mid-1980’s to the Pomona/Ottawa area. Jack was united in marriage to Wanda Moore in 1958 in Yuma, Arizona. She preceded him in death on November 26, 2019. Jack was a lifelong machinist making aircraft fasteners. He worked several years at Mac Fasteners in Ottawa, until his retirement in the mid-2000’s. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 5901 of Ottawa, and a life member of the NRA. Jack enjoyed shooting guns, fishing, raising cattle and was always busy. He loved his wife very much and always looked forward to the time he spent with his family and grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty Rictor; birth mother Oma Higgins; and four brothers, Harold Rictor, Jr., Larry Rictor, Dan Rictor, and Bob Rictor. Survivors include two sons, Darren Rictor of Pomona, and Jess Rictor (Terri) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; brother Joe Rictor (Jane) of Waldport, Oregon; six grandchildren, Chris Rictor, Ben Rictor, Riley Rictor, Cooper Rictor (Neila), Cody Rictor, and Justin Rictor; and three great grandchildren, Daryn, Isabelle and Cameron Rictor.
