Jack Goad, 67, of Williamsburg, Kansas, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015, at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 7, 2015, at the Williamsburg Community Building. Military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Jack was born Saturday, July 17, 1948, in Edmond, Oklahoma, the son of Buck and Betty (Harris) Goad. He had lived in Guthrie, Oklahoma, for ten years before moving in 1990 to Williamsburg. Jack was united in marriage with Rebecca Scott July 8, 1970, in Guthrie, Oklahoma. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his two children, Jefferson Goad of Hutchinson and Kaydence Goad of the home; siblings, Leroy Goad of Canute, Oklahoma, Kenneth Goad and wife Muzzy of Independence, Missouri, Johnny Goad and wife Connie of Red Rock, Oklahoma, Joann Corcoran and husband Art of Guthrie, Oklahoma, and Jody Goad and wife Kathy also of Guthrie; sisters-in-law, Deborah Goad of Guthrie and Nancy Taylor of Oklahoma City; and four grandchildren, Jacquelynn Goad of the home, Jaymee Goad of Melvern, Hailee Goad of Burlington, and Hannah Tharp of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Goad; parents, Buck and Betty Goad; three brothers, Jimmy, Jerry and Jay Goad; and sister, Jeannie Goad. Jack was employed with Consolidated Oil Field Services, Ottawa, for ten years in the 1980s and 1990s, and Williams Pipeline, Kansas City, Kansas, for ten years, retiring in 2004. Jack served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam from February 1969 to March 1971. He obtained the rank of Specialist 4. His decorations and citations included the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; two Purple Hearts; Combat Infantryman Badge; Army Commendation Medal with V Device with three Oak Leaf Clusters; Air Medal; and Expert (Rifle). He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 5901 and the Vietnam Veterans Association. Jack was committed to his family and loved spending time with them.
