Jewel Charles (JC) Jentzsch III, 70, of Osawatomie, Kansas passed away peacefully Thursday, September 20, 2018 surrounded by family in his home after a 10 year battle with cancer. JC was born September 21, 1947 in Leoti, Kansas the son of JC Jentzsch, Jr. and Sylvia Mae (Jentzsch) Chase. He attended Paola High School and graduated in 1965. He then went on to work for Missouri Pacific Railroad in Osawatomie, Kansas as an Operator, but was drafted by the Army and served in Vietnam from 1966-1968 as a Radio Operator. When he came home, he went back to work for the Railroad. Later, he became a Train Dispatcher in Kansas City, Missouri. He was transferred to Omaha, Nebraska in 1990 and worked for Union Pacific Railroad. In February 2006, he retired after 40 years and moved back to Osawatomie to open Back Home Nursery with his wife Sandy and daughter Susan. On August 29, 1969 he married Sandra Gregory at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Paola, Kansas. They became parents to Susan and Chris. JC and Sandy just celebrated their 49th Anniversary. Survivors include his wife Sandy of the home; daughter Susan and granddogs Bailey and Maisey of the home; son Chris (Carissa) Malvern, Iowa; grandkids Raili and Jerett; siblings Linda (Gene) Kern, Louisburg, KS, Brenda Wilcox, Overland Park, KS, Jeff (Debbie), Waynesville, NC, Jennifer (Brian) Cornett, Fontana, KS, Nancy Mills (Clay Brown), Spring Hill, KS; step- siblings Mark Gabbert, Gina Gabbert and Deanna Franks; and many neices and nephews. JC is preceded in death by both his parents, JC, Jr. and Sylvia. JC's favorite things were family, fishing, gardening and animals.
