J. B. Perry, 82, of Paola, Kansas passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014, at Life Care Center of Osawatomie, Kansas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 21, 2014, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Miami County, Kansas. J. B. was born on Thursday, November 5, 1931 in Claycomo, Missouri, the son of Joseph and Edith (Morris) Perry. He lived in Wisconsin from 1950 to 1965, moving back to Kansas City, Kansas. He moved to Paola in May 1981. On June 5, 1967 J. B. was united in marriage with Norma Weis in Minneapolis, Kansas. They later divorced. Survivors include his son, Norman Perry of Oklahoma; step-daughter, Sharon Morrison of Augusta, Wisconsin; step-son, Robert Kisling of Overland Park, Kansas; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four nieces; one nephew; sisters, Audrey Hickman of North Kansas City, Missouri, and Martha Jonas of Gladstone, Missouri; and dear friends, John and Cindy Dill and Brian and Marci Stevens. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lester Perry, Charles Martin, and Clarence Martin; and three sisters, Lou Belle Perry, Kathryn Longacre, and Wilma Martin. J. B. worked as a truck driver for PepsiCo for ten years, retiring in 1984. Earlier he hauled lumber 4 ½ years and also worked 4 ½ years for Farmland Industries, Double Circle CO-OP, and miscellaneous truck driving. J. B. was a warm and caring man who loved his family and friends. He had a love for nature, animals and birds. He enjoyed listening to music, fishing, football, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and going to bike rallies, especially the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
