Ivy Elizabeth Maxwell

March 27, 2015 — August 9, 2018

Ivy Elizabeth Maxwell, age 3, of Ottawa, died Thursday, August 9, 2018. Family will meet with friends from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Westminster Presbyterian Church 13th & Maple Street, Ottawa. Celebration of Ivy's life for family and friends will follow. Ivy was born March 27, 2015 in Overland Park, the daughter of Andrew and Tabitha (Morningstar) Maxwell. She was a lifelong Ottawa resident. Ivy was her Daddy’s little girl and her Mommy’s “sissy babes”. She was her brother’s best friend and he was her protector. She loved to sing and was learning to dance and tumble. Ivy was: high energy, a free spirit, spunky, sassy, a diva, and a princess. She giggled and had a laugh that was contagious. Ivy liked to wear dresses and makeup and would always tell people “look how pretty I am” with a big smile on her face. She loved to have her “papa” chase her and tickle her toes and ears. She was three and had a strong will, but her heart was soft and gentle. She was a blessing to her family. She will be forever cherished in the hearts of those who survive her including her parents and brother, Jackson Maxwell of the home; paternal grandparents, Jack and Elizabeth Maxwell of Ottawa; maternal grandparents, Neal and Sue Morningstar of Kansas City, Missouri; maternal great-grandpa, Harry Morningstar of Kansas City, Missouri; two uncles, Jason Maxwell and wife Kathy of Ottawa, and Christopher Morningstar of Kansas City, Missouri; three aunts, Anne Hasty of Olathe, Erin Johnson and husband Jordan of Olathe, and Rachel Morningstar of Kansas City, Missouri; and seven cousins, Austin Hasty, Adam Hasty, Alex Hasty, Hannah Maxwell, Chloe Maxwell, Tyler Maxwell, and Olivia Johnson. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Ivy Elizabeth Dance Scholarship c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067. Family and friends are encouraged to post their condolences and memories on Ivy’s Tribute Wall at www.dengelmortuary.com
