Isabelle Riley

Zane “Isabelle” Riley, age 91, of Paola, passed away January 3, 2018 at North Point Skilled Nursing Center, Paola, Kansas. Isabelle was born on October 11, 1926 to Oscar and Lulu (Yates) Wills in Cherryvale, Kansas. She was united in marriage to H. H. Riley on December 13, 1941 at Ottawa, Kansas. They made their home in Ottawa until 1952 when they moved to Paola. Isabelle enjoyed cooking, for herself and her family and friends. She would always say “isn’t this good kids?” She was also an avid golfer and bowler. She was active in selecting Girl’s State candidates as a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She was a member of First Baptist Church Paola and especially enjoyed serving meals. She previously taught Sunday school and thoroughly enjoyed the mission of cooking for others in their time of need. Isabelle was preceded in death by her husband H. H. Riley on April 3, 1987. She is survived by her sons H. Wayne (Judy), John (Joanne), and Ron (Kelly); 8 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren. A special thanks to Miami County Medical Center, Dr. Kerri Fellows and staff, and North Point Skilled Nursing Center and the many family and friends that participated in her care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Paola or American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post 156.
