Irene Warner, age 85 of Ottawa, Kansas, died Wednesday, February 15, 2012. She was born on Friday, July 30, 1926 in Franklin County, Kansas, the daughter of Roy H. and Ruby Mae (Lyons) Brown. She was a near lifelong Ottawa resident. Irene graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1944. She worked twenty-five years as a bank teller for Kansas State Bank in Ottawa; later known as First National Bank in the 1960’s and 1970’s. She and her husband, Raymond, built and operated the Royal Manor Motel in Ottawa. Irene was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ottawa, and a former member of the Good Sam Camping Club. On December 2, 1945 Irene was united in marriage with Raymond Warner at Emporia, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1996. She is survived by her: Daughter – Janet Wood and her husband, William of Fairfax, Virginia; Daughter –Barbara Conus and her husband, Glenn of Ottawa, Kansas; Sister – Maxine Lichtenberger of Ottawa, Kansas; Sister – Bonnie Harsh and her husband, Dean of St. Joseph, Missouri; Brother –in-law – John Harper of Ottawa, Kansas; Granddaughter – Maegan Wood; Grandson – William Wood; Grandson – Chad Conus; Granddaughter – Andrea Conus; Grandson – Brian Conus; Grandson – Matthew Conus; Great Grandson – Tyler Conus; Great Grandson – Alex Conus; Great Grandson – Ariah Bueno; Great Grandson – Kayson Chandley and Numerous Nieces and Nephews. She is preceded in death by her: Husband – Raymond Warner; Parents – Roy H. and Ruby Mae Brown; Brother – Roy Brown; Sister – Velma McCrary; Sister – Bernice Evans; Sister – Vivian Harder; Sister – Patsy Harper; Infant Sister – Gladys Brown and Infant Great Grandson – Kylen Conus. SERVICES: Graveside funeral services will be held from the Highland Cemetery 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2012. IN STATE: Mrs. Warner will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, where the family will meet with friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, Kansas.
