Irene Naomi Cox, 86, Ottawa, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2008. Irene lived in Coffee County until moving to Lawrence and then Topeka in 1937. From 1942 until 1946, she lived on the Indian reservation southwest of Mayetta, Kansas. Irene lived briefly north of Williamsburg in 1946 and in Otawa from 1947 until 1949. In 1968 she returned to Ottawa where she made her home until her death on Monday, January 28, 2008. Irene attended Sunflower School in Coffee County, completing the 8th grade. Irene worked a year for Mode O`Day in Ottawa as a seamstress and for many years sewed for others in her home, and worked on the family farm. Irene was a member of the Rock Creek Church of Christ in Ottawa. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2008, at Rock Creek Church of Christ in Ottawa. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Ms. Cox after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Dengel & Son Mortuary to service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Thursday evening. CEMETERY: Key West Cemetery, east of Lebo, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to Rock Creek Church of Christ or Midland Hospice, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary 235 S.
