Ira V. Allen

Ira V. Allen, age 108, of Paola, Kansas passed away January 12, 2018 at Life Care Center of Osawatomie. He was born on June 22, 1909 in Wright County, Missouri to George and Emeline Hurtt Allen. Ira was a carpenter and a farmer all his life. He loved to fish, camp, play dominos, and serve in the church. He enjoyed visiting with his family and friends. He lived a godly life by example, not just in word but in all that he did. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. Ira was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter Barbara Wright and her husband Loren; son Lyle Allen; grandsons Jeff Allen and Loren Wright; sisters Lucille, Edith, Gertrude, and Mozella; and one brother Raymond Allen. Surviving are his son Keith and wife Ava Allen; daughter-in-law Mayvis Allen; 5 grandchildren Gary and Atha Gerken, Troy and Angie Allen, Lyle Gene and Denise Allen, Eddie and Janet Aguero, and Charlotte Wright Bushue; 20 great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.
