Ione Pearl Brannan

Ione Pearl (Logan) Lambert-Brannan, age 103, of Topeka, Kansas, went to heaven on Monday, September 10, 2012. She was born on Saturday, March 20, 1909 in Leota, Kansas, the daughter of Chester and Jessie (Burgess) Logan. Ione was a near lifelong resident of Franklin County, Kansas, living in Williamsburg as a child and Ottawa from 1944 until moving to Topeka in February of 1997. She attended school at Williamsburg, Kansas. Ione was a homemaker and also took care of people in their homes over the years. When Ione lived in Ottawa she was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, Warren Black Post #60, American Legion Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5901 Auxiliary. She also enjoyed attending the Ottawa Senior Center. Ione always had a hug and kiss for everyone, especially little ones. On November 23, 1939, Ione was united in marriage with Harvey J. Lambert at Lawrence, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 19, 1959. In 1965 she was married to Arthur Brannan at Independence, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1989. She is survived by her: Daughter – Evelyn Starbuck and husband Jimmy of Topeka, Kansas; Son – Harvey Lambert, Jr. and wife Lois of Largo, Florida; Grandchildren - Nine; Great Grandchildren - Twenty-two; and Great Great Grandchildren - Twenty-six. Ione is preceded in death by her: Husband – Harvey Lambert; 2nd Husband – Arthur Brannan; Brother – Gerald Logan; Brother – Leland Logan; Brother – Verne Logan; Stepson - Roy W. Lambert and Stepson – George P. Lambert. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from Dengel & Son Mortuary 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 13, 2012. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Brannan at Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 to the service hour where the family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday evening. CEMETERY: Interment Walnut Creek Cemetery, Wellsville, Kansas.
