Ilda Leona Koopman

Ilda L. Koopman, age 99, of Paola, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at North Point Nursing Center of Paola.

Ilda was born to John Henry Holtz and Katherine Elizabeth Gerken Holtz on August 3, 1924, in Paola, Kansas. She attended the Block Trinity Lutheran School. During World War II she was employed at the Sunflower Ammunition Plant and later at the Smith Sewing Factory.

On April 20, 1947, she was united in marriage to Alvin Koopman in Block, Kansas. To this union three children were born; Dianne, Anita, and Gay.

Ilda is survived by two daughters; Anita Koopman and Gay (Harry) Stubbs, four grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Geraldine Holtz, and two nieces. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, Alvin, her daughter, Dianne, two brothers, Homer Holtz and Orval Holtz, and infant sister, Ila Mae.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Block, Kansas, with graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at the church cemetery.
