Ilda “Deanie” Streebin, 88, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, Kansas.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 am, Monday, October 9, 2023, at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa.
Deanie was born on Saturday, August 17, 1935 at Scranton, Kansas. She was the daughter of Ralph E. and Ruby G. (Tindell) Thompson.
She lived in Burlingame, Kansas, Kansas City, Kansas and over sixty-seven years in Franklin, County.
She graduated from Ottawa, High School with the class of 1952.
On August 2, 1953, Deanie was united in marriage with George E. Streebin at Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded he in death on December 25, 2017.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Thompson and Ruby Thompson Huss, brothers, Bill Thompson, Bob Thompson and Jerry Thompson; step-father, Paul Huss; sisters-in-laws, Eva Thompson and Wanita Thompson.
She is survived by her son, Michael Streebin and his wife, Peggy of Ottawa; daughter, Lori Stewart of Ottawa; sister, Paula Huss of Princeton, Kansas; grandchildren, Joshua Streebin of Ottawa, Kansas and Valkyrle Black (Charizma) of Lawrence; two great-grandchildren, Cierra and Jayden; and sister-in-law Ronalee Thompson of Ottawa, Kansas; along with many nieces and nephews.
Deanie was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and KU Basketball and she liked to travel.
The family suggests memorials to St. Jude’s Hospital, the Salvation Army, or Prairie Paws Animal Shelter.
