Ila Hase

Ila Hase was born December 11, 1912, at Pomona, Kansas. She was the daughter of William V. and Rosa M. (McFadden) Brubaker. She was a longtime Franklin County, Kansas resident, living in Richmond, Kansas from 1932 to 1993. She moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1993 and Parsons, Kansas in 2001, where she made her home until her death Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at the age of ninety years. She was a lifelong homemaker. She also worked for Mode O'Day and H. D. Lee, both in Ottawa, in the 1950's and early 1960's. She was a member of Homemakers Extension Unit and Daughters of the American Revolution, both of Richmond. Ila greatly loved, and enjoyed, her family and grandchildren. She liked to sew, read, and work puzzles. She also enjoyed watching 'Jeopardy' and 'Hollywood Squares' on T.V. On September 8, 1931, Ila was united in marriage with William Albert Hase at Olathe. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1990. She is also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Willene Eckhardt; two brothers, Roy Evans, Clark Brubaker; six sisters, Gladys Hodges, Doris Brubaker Alta Brubaker, Eula Brubaker, Vesta Filkins, Wilma Long; and, great grandson, Adam Bartlett. She is survived by three daughters, Ilene Streeter of Parsons, Bonnie Hess and her husband, Carl, of Altamont, Connie Bunney of Parsons; two brothers, Lyle Brubaker and his wife, Lois, of Lawrence, O. D. Brubaker and his wife, Ruth, of Lawrence; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and, eleven great-great-grandchildren. SERVICES: Graveside services will be held at Princeton Cemetery, 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2003. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Pastor Duane Pedrow. IN STATE: Mrs. Hase will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 p.m. Thursday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Thursday evening. CEMETERY: Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to American Diabetes Association, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
