Howard "Fuzz" Hiatt age 76 of Spring Hill, Kansas passed away Monday at the Olathe Medical Center. Howard was born Sept 7, 1933 in Spring Hill, Kansas to Ernest and Hazel Viar Hiatt. He graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1951. He enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War and served from 1953 to 1955, receiving an honorable discharge on May 23, 1955. Howard was united in marriage to Linda Sue Harris on Oct. 5, 1957 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. They made their home in Spring Hill, Kansas. He worked for the Pittman Construction Company, the Tri-City Construction Company, RO Products of Olathe, and Broderson Manufacturing Company for 21 years as a service manager retiring in 1993. Howard enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards with family and friends, was an excellent mechanic with hydraulics, an avid Kansas JayHawk fan, enjoyed kids and coaching youth baseball teams, was a fan of the Spring Hill Broncos sports team, and the apple of his eye were his two granddaughters. His memberships included the Spring Hill Methodist Church and the Kansas Old Timers Pickers and Fiddlers Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Beulah Manning, and two brothers, Harold and Bill Hiatt. Survivors are his wife Sue Hiatt of the home, son Bruce and wife Mary Hiatt of Lee"s Summit, MO; 2 granddaughters, Courtney and Cara Rose Hiatt; one brother, Paul Hiatt of Spring Hill; and six sisters, Velma Fife of Spring Hill, Doris Drury of Stockton, MO, Mary Green of Spring Hill, Carol Strasbaugh of Spring Hill, Linda Rogers of Bella Vista, AR, and Donna Coons of Versailles MO. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson Foundation or the Alzheimer"s Association.
