Howard H. Johnson, age 96, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Sunday, January 9, 2011, at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa. He was born on Wednesday, August 26, 1914, in Lindsborg, Kansas, the son of Eban and Dora (Herman) Johnson. He lived in Lindsborg until his marriage, moving to Ottawa. He lived at Ottawa Retirement Village in his later years. Howard graduated from Falun High School near Lindsborg. He ran a Guernsey farm east of Ottawa over forty years. He was of the Lutheran faith all his life and attended Assembly of God Church in Ottawa. On Wednesday, February 28, 1945, Howard was united in marriage with Vivian Charlotte Nelson in Salina, Kansas. They enjoyed fifty-five years together. She preceded him in death on November 8, 2000. Survivors include sister,Minnie Beck of Lawrence, Kansas; sister, Bly Allen of EauClaire, Wisconsin; sister, Alva Smith of Garland, Texas; sister,Wanda Block of Lenexa, Kansas; sister-in-law,Marilyn Holly of Joshua, Texas,sister-in-law, Alice Nelson of Lindsborg, Kansas; brother-in-law-Jim Oborg of Lindsborg, Kansas; and numerous nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife,Vivian Charlotte Johnson, parents,Eban and Dora Johnson, sister, Grace Block, sister,Ruth Oborg, brother,Evans Johnson, brother,Lester Johnson. SERVICES: Memorial Services will be held at Salemsborg Lutheran Church, 3831 W. Salemsborg Rd., Lindsborg, Kansas, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2011.
