Herbert V. “Herb” Gade, age 97, died Friday, June 19, 2015 at the Richmond Healthcare Center in Richmond, Kansas. Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Dengel & Son Mortuary and the family will meet with friends following the service. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force. Herb was born on Sunday, April 21, 1918 in Tripp, South Dakota, the son of Theodore and Rose (Madorin) Gade. He lived in Nebraska until moving to Ottawa in 1981. Herb attended North High School in Omaha, Nebraska. He worked twenty years as an iron worker all over the country; twenty-five years for OK Electric as an electrician, retiring in 1981 ten years for the Telephone Company, and fourteen years for Franklin County Mental Health, retiring in 2007. Herb served in the United States Army Air Force from September 23, 1942 until February 1946, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He attended Faith Lutheran Church and First Baptist Church, both in Ottawa. Herb was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Kuehl and his wife, Joyce C. (Spindler) Gade. Survivors include daughters, Jill Hill of Aurora, Missouri, Vicki Villone-Lange and her husband, Mike of Denver, Colorado, Susan Anderson of Grapevine, Texas and Connie Jessen and her husband, Dave of Ottawa, Kansas and son, Ronald Villone and his wife, Jeanette of Missouri Valley, Iowa; grandchildren, Corey Tucker and his wife, Hayley of Ottawa,; Missouri, Sara Lange of Denver, Colorado, Shellie Farris of Dallas, Texas, Connie Tibke of Omaha, Nebraska, Jason Villone of Omaha, Nebraska, Stephanie Jessen, Kim Jessen, Michael Jessen and David Jessen. Also surviving are his extended family at Richmond Healthcare, Vitas Hospice and Emma England The family suggests memorial contributions to Vitas Hospice c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
