Henry Steven “Steve” Hildebrandt, 56, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017. Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, June 12, 2017, at Faith Lutheran Church. Family will meet with friends from 10:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M., Monday, prior to services. Steve was born Saturday, June 18, 1960, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Henry and Ramona (Johnson) Hildebrandt. He was a lifelong Ottawa resident. He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1979. Survivors include his parents, Henry & Ramona Hildebrandt of Ottawa; two children, Chris Hildebrandt and wife Rose of Ottawa, and Ashley Hird also of Ottawa; two sisters, Connie Hildebrandt and Brenda Eckard both of Ottawa; and four grandchildren, Emily Alexander, Mikala Alexander, Lucas Hildebrandt and Emma Hird all of Ottawa. Steve worked as a residential construction carpenter for most of his life. Steve enjoyed time with family and friends, cooking, fishing, golfing, playing cards and above all playing with his grandchildren.
