Henry R. Kircher, 85, of Louisburg, KS passed away September 30, 2017 at Autumn Leaves of Overland Park, KS. He was born at Cleveland, MO on August 16, 1932, the son of John and Margaret (Prettyman) Kircher. Henry farmed at an early age with his uncle, Red Prettyman, in the Cleveland, MO area. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. This is where he learned his trade, working as an installer-lineman. Henry and his brother-in-law, Lucian Hess, were partners building homes in the Louisburg area before going to work for his father at Mo-Kan Dial. He and Lucian later purchased the phone company in the late seventies. They sold the company and retired in 1994. He was a member of the Louisburg American Legion Post # 250, VFW Post 7348, Masonic peace Lodge # 243, Scottish Rite and Shriners. He was past president of the “Sand Green” Louisburg Golf Course. He enjoyed playing golf but also played a mean game of horse shoes along with a mean game of pitch. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Louisburg. Henry loved watching his grandchildren play sports and great grandchildren play basketball. Henry also had a great time attending the Kircher luncheons, the Prettyman reunions and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Clarence Lucian Hess and one niece, Teresa Hess. Survivors include two sons, Robert Kircher & Dennis (Dina) Kircher; one daughter, Lisa (Jimmy) Mincks; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one sister, Alena Hess and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 406 S Vine Street, Louisburg, KS. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the church. Burial will be in the Louisburg Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Louisburg American Legion Post # 250, The First Baptist Church or Louisburg Masonic Peace Lodge # 243.
