Helen Rose Moews Helen Rose Moews, age 92, passed away February 22, 2009, in Emporia, Kansas. A life-long resident of Louisburg, Kansas, she most recently resided at the Vintage Park Assisted Living Facility. Born January 11, 1917, she graduated from Louisburg High School in 1935 and attended business school in Kansas City until her marriage. She and Charles E. Moews were united in holy matrimony August 18, 1937, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Louisburg, where she was an active parishonier and member of the Altar Society until her death. They welcomed a son, Robert "Bob", into their family in 1944. She and Charles worked together as farmers in the Louisburg community until their retirement to a small acreage north of Louisburg in 1968. As an avid fisherman, Helen was thrilled to have a fishing lake in her own backyard. She was a wonderful gardener and excellent cook, well known for her birthday cakes and annual January fish fry. Her role as grandmother to her grandchild, Albert, gave her joy beyond measure. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Charles Moews; an infant son; her parents, Robert and Millie Jenkins; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; and a great-nephew. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Dawn Moews of Emporia, Kansas; grandson, Albert Moews of Lawrence, Kansas; sister-in-law Mary Wilson of Louisburg, Kansas; one nephew and his wife, David and Kathy Wilson of Rossville, Kansas; one niece and her husband, Diane Wilson and Brian Vinyard of Overland Park; 3 great nieces and 2 great nephews. The Visitation will be Thursday, February 26, at the Penwell-Gabel Louisburg Chapel from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with the Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 27, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Louisburg, Kansas. Burial in St. Mary"s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Vintage Park Assisted Living Facility in Louisburg, Kansas. Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 606 S.
