Helen Marie Pennington, 90, of rural Rantoul, Kansas passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 30, 2014. Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Pennington at Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 29, 2014, to the service hour where the family will meet with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. Wednesday. Interment Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantoul, Kansas. Helen was born on Sunday, June 10, 1923 in Paola, Kansas, the daughter of Guy and Esther (Wolfe) Boslaugh. She has lived in rural Rantoul since 1948 moving from Wagstaff, Kansas. She graduated from Stilwell High School, Stilwell, Kansas with the class of 1941. On February 28, 1942 Helen was united in marriage with Earl Kenneth Pennington in Spring Hill, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2003. Survivors include her two daughters, Judy Pennington and husband Harold of Rantoul, and Janice Kern and husband Bill also of Rantoul; four grandchildren, Kenneth Sobba and wife Kathy, Terrie Titus and husband Rick, Erick Kern, and Melissa Clissold and husband Michael; nine great grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, granddaughter, Marsha Kay Kern; great grandson, Willie Clissold; parents; and brother, Wayne Boslaugh. Helen was a devoted lifelong homemaker. She was a member of the Ruhamah Baptist Church and the Get Together Club. The family suggests memorial contributions to Terrie Titus Cancer Fund c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
