Helen M. Wise

August 16, 1925 — October 17, 2010

Helen M. Wise, 85, Louisburg, died peacefully on October 17, 2010, at Kansas City Hospice. She was born August 16, 1925 in Louisburg, Kansas. She was the third of four children born to Julius S. Rosner and Mary H. Peuser Rosner. She graduated from Louisburg High School in 1943. She was married on October 20, 1945, to Glenn E. Wise. They lived happily in Louisburg and were blessed with two daughters, Kimberly and Cristina. After Glenn passed away in 1983, Helen remained a loving, devoted wife. A lifelong resident of Louisburg, Helen was known for her strong work ethic as a homemaker, a helpmate on the farm, a salesperson for Pioneer Seed Co. and a bookkeeper for both Rosner Motors and Action Rental. The top priorities in Helen's life were faith and family. She was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society and served on the Louisburg Cemetery Board. When not working, she kept busy by supporting Louisburg's sports teams; writing in her journal that she had kept since 1953; making applesauce and jam; bringing comfort to the sick; and attending the various sporting events, recitals, tournaments and concerts that her many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were performing in. Outside her family, Helen was a loyal friend, a trusted mentor and a surrogate grandmother to many. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn and her three sisters, Elizabeth Rubaloff, Laraine Mcguirk and Rosemary Mossman. She is survived by her daughters, Cristina Brown of Cleveland, Missouri and Kimberly Smith and son-in-law Larry Smith of Louisburg; six grandchildren, Bryce Smith and his wife Stephanie Smith of Louisburg, Lauren W. Taylor of Kansas City, Missouri and Cooper Smith of New York, New York, Mattie Brown of Kansas City, Missouri, Olivia Brown of Kansas City, Missouri and Taylor Brown of Cleveland, Missouri; and three great-grandchildren, Kennedy Helen Smith, Reece Smith and Reagan Smith, of Louisburg.
