In Loving Memory of Helen Louise White
July 13, 1943 – June 7,2024
With profound sadness and cherished memories, we announce the peaceful passing of Helen Louise White, aged 80, of Spring Hill, Kansas. Surrounded by the love of her family and her faith in God, Helen departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and devotion.
Born on a sunny day in July 1943 in Paola, Kansas, to Erwin and Laura Ohlmeier, Helen grew into a spirited middle child amidst her two siblings. Her early years in Paola were filled with the joys of small-town life, where she not only completed her education but also met her lifelong companion, Bill White. Their love blossomed into marriage on June 2, 1962, marking the beginning of a journey over six decades long, punctuated by adventures in the military, the joys of raising four wonderful children, and the serenity of their golden years.
Helen's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she opened and operated 'Special Occasions,' a beloved local gift store. Even after its doors closed, her creativity never waned as Helen continued to share her quilting masterpieces and delectable baked goods at the Sugar Mound Festival and the Farmer's Market in Paola.
A beacon of love and strength, Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her life was a testament to her faith and the bonds of family. She is survived by her husband, Bill; her children, Cindy (Brian), Rob (Janea), Sarah (Jim), and Bill Jr. (Aly); her cherished grandchildren, Eric, Brian, David, Kellie, Emily, Ali, Kyla, Kaitlyn, Mikayla, and Maria; and her adored great-grandchildren, Kevin, Kloe, Troy, Mila, and Ava; and her sister Elaine and brother Lloyd.
Helen's warmth, kindness, faith, and indomitable spirit touched all who knew her. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we find comfort in knowing that her legacy will continue to inspire and influence every life she touched.
We invite all who loved Helen to join us in celebrating her life, sharing stories, and honoring the immeasurable impact she has left on each of us. Helen Louise White will be dearly missed, but her light will forever guide our way.
