Helen Louise Guy

Helen Louise Guy, age 91, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Village Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa, Kansas. She was born on Tuesday, December 30, 1919, in Lane, Kansas. She was the daughter of James W. and Susie (Horn) Alexander. She was a lifelong resident of Anderson and Franklin Counties. Helen graduated from Lane High School with the class of 1938. She was a homemaker and farmer. Helen was a member of Richmond Methodist Church, Stitch and Chatter Club, Zigzag Club, and Prairie Chicken Camping Club. On March 10, 1945, Helen was united in marriage with Harold E. Guy in Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1988. She is survived by her: Daughter-Carol Reekie of Ottawa, Kansas; Daughter-Cathy Raymond and her husband, Collwell, of Derby, Kansas; Brother-Joe Alexander and his wife, Katy, of Lane, Kansas; Sister-in-law-Barbara Feuerborn of Branson, Missouri; Grandson-Scott Kirkland; Grandson-Shawn Secrest and his wife, Jayme; Granddaughter-Crystal Kadrmas and her husband, Arlis; Granddaughter-Mindy Cleverley; Granddaughter-Tammy Raymond; Ten great-grandsons and One great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her: Husband-Harold Guy; Son-Terry Guy; Son-Larry Guy; Parents-James W. and Susie Alexander; Brother-George Alexander and Brother-Bill Alexander. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2011. IN STATE: Mrs. Guy will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, where the family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 Wednesday evening.
