Helen J. Watts, 86, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away on December 8, 2022, at AdventHealth Ottawa.

At the request of Helen, cremation is planned with no services.

Helen was born March 24, 1936, in Shell Knob, Missouri, the daughter of Jessie Andrew and Gertrude Anna (Sellens) Fields. She graduated from Quenemo High School. On May 3, 1953, Helen was united in marriage to Earl Ray Watts in Lyndon, Kansas. They ran a family farm where she was a mother hen caring for many local children. Helen was also a beautician and had her shop for many years.

Helen enjoyed painting and creating one-of-a-kind crafts. She and Earl Ray worked for the Corps of Engineers near Branson during their retirement. Helen truly loved the Ozark Mountains and often invited her friends there.

She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Ray; her parents and three sisters.

Survivors include her son Samuel Watts, and her nephew who she raised as her own Patrick McComb and wife Tina; grandchildren, Jessica Watts, Joshua McComb, Chelsea McComb and Cole Studley; great-grandchildren, Brinlee and Aydin Deeter, Memphis McComb, Paetyn and Christopher Kraus, and Greyson, Brylin, Gavin and Kale Studley; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.
