Helen I. Rose, 66, of Overland Park, KS died October 24, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital, Kansas City, MO. She was born May 11, 1945 at Farlinville, KS, the daughter of Kenneth William Marmon and Donna Ivalene Johnson. Helen worked at Delmar Gardens of Overland Park, Ks as an LPN for 16 years, and considered many of her co-workers and patients as her second family. She loved to go fishing with friends and family and enjoyed doing a variety of puzzles, crocheting and knitting. She attended Unity Church in Overland Park. Helen was an ANGEL of care giving of so many and now she is being cared for by angels in heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, J. Richard Cook, her husband, Larry R. Rose, 1 brother, Kenneth Marmon and 1 grandson Anthony Cates. Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Cates and wife Mary, Wellsville, KS and Chas Cates and wife Theresa, Eudora, KS; two daughters, Dora Cates, Independence, MO; and Renee Katzer, Blue Springs, MO; three sisters, Twyla Lancaster and husband Norm, Alva, OK; Linda Kircher and husband Paul, Louisburg, KS and Judy Glenn and husband Don, Raymond, MS.; three brothers, David Marmon, Louisburg, KS , James R. Cook, St. Joseph, MO; and Victor Cook and wife Chris, Gulf Breeze, FL; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
