Helen F. Hill, 96, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Christian Care Cottage. Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 28, 2013. Family will meet with friends at 10:00 A.M. prior to service. Private family inurnment will be held at Princeton Cemetery. Helen was born on Saturday, November 17, 1917 in Princeton, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Iva (Winters) Davis. She lived in Ottawa since the late 1960’s moving from Wichita where she lived several years. She graduated from Princeton High School with the class of 1935. On November 23, 1939 Helen was united in marriage with Herbert H. Hill in Hollywood, California. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2005. Survivors include her son, Clifford Hill and wife Sally of Webster, New York; two grandchildren, Greg Hill and wife Kristin of Stony Point, New York and Brian Hill and wife Cindy of Mooresville, North Carolina; six great grandchildren, Alexa, Justin, Elena, Tyler, Mason and Sarah Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Hal Davis; and sister, Hazel Kinnison. Helen had a tremendous work ethic. Starting as a young adult she delivered newspapers in the Princeton area. She also worked as a telephone operator, in Princeton, and assisted her father with local mail deliveries. In the 1950’s she worked with her brother in his cleaning supply business located in Ottawa and Wichita; and in the 1960’s Helen worked as a sales clerk for Skaggs Drug Store in Wichita.
